BISH HONORED BY DUCKS UNLIMITED FOR CONSERVATION EFFORTS
Jerry Bish, Pennsylvania Game Commission Land Management Group Supervisor recently was recognized as the 2008 Conservationist of the Year by Pennsylvania Ducks Unlimited.

Bish was chosen for this award for his efforts to improve habitat for wildlife, as well as his participation in Game Commission wildlife research and management projects, at the Game Commission's Pymatuning Wildlife Management Area and Geneva Marshes in western Crawford County and southern Erie County.


DENIKER RECEIVES TWO AWARDS FOR ACT OF BRAVERY
Pennsylvania Game Commission Wildlife Conservation Officer Clint Deniker recently was presented with two awards for saving the life of a driver trapped during a car crash on April 4, 2008. 

When Deniker came upon an overturned and burning vehicle, he took a great personal risk when he acted quickly and decisively to cut the seat belt and carry the driver 50 yards to safety. Deniker administered first aid and helped the victim maintain consciousness until emergency medical personnel arrived.

Deniker was presented the Governor's Award for Excellence during a ceremony at the Governor's Residence, and he received the Carnegie Hero's Fund Medal during a presentation at the Game Commission Northwest Region Office.


MCKELLOP AND ALLEGRO RECOGNIZED BY USFWS
Pennsylvania Game Commission Wildlife Conservation Officers (WCOs) John McKellop III and Mark Allegro, both of Crawford County, recently were recognized by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) for their continuing support and assistance to the law enforcement program of the USFWS. 

USFWS Zone Law Enforcement Officer David Nicely presented WCOs McKellop and Allegro with plaques.


SANFORD HONORED WITH ANNUAL AWARD
Keith Sanford, Pennsylvania Game Commission Land Management Group Supervisor for Columbia, Northumberland and Montour counties, recently was honored with the Shikar-Safari Officer of the Year Award from Safari Club International.

In 1981, Sanford began his career with the Game Commission as a cadet in the 18th Class of the RLSC. He graduated in 1982, and was assigned to be the District Game Protector in southern Chester County, Southeast Region.
