Title: Fleshing board
Post by: Brushwolf on September 07, 2012, 09:07:03 PM
Want to make a fleshing board for coon and grey fox but I need to know what size to make it. I need to know a thickness, length and the width. Any help would be great.

I use an eight inch beam.

Everyone has their own style.

No. I meant fleshing beams. Herns reply gave me some good ideas. looks like there is no standard size at all. Thanks again.

Bw...
I fleshed with different boards and push down or pull down...
Last year I mounted a new beam straight out and like this method because I don't have to bend my back.
It's posted below on the page, but here's the link...

i paterned mine with  a #4 wire stretcher.  i just bent it in till the sides lined up with the edge of the 2x8.  i left it 1.5" thick and left a 1.5" flat on the tip.  i  rounded the top so it fit the knife.
