Goose I have three daughters and you are absolutely right, nothing more important. Was suppose to go out this AM to try and kill a problem coyote but daughter called and needed some help repairing fence, coyote hunt postponed until fence is repaired.
I sure am glad all you slackers put off calling for work. The illegals need all the federal money you can give them, as do us social security recipients.
-
Fence repaired, goat killer no longer amongst the goats.

This was a hunt for a novice. Last years male pup, probably run out of the family at start of the breeding season. Killed one kid and they have about five or six more kids in the field, can't afford to have anymore killed. I don't think he was a very adapt hunter as he have an abundance of jacks, cottontail and assorted other goodies. I sat in the goat shed entrance and started to call, about three minutes later he was DOA. Got a big thank-you and two pounds of goat cheese and fudge and I ain't sharing.
-
Nice coyote CJ. We managed a 30 pounder today. But it was a beaver.
-
Your beaver weighed more than most of our coyotes. Didn't put this guy on a scale but would imagine he was no more than twenty-five, if that much. Biggest one I have killed out here was thirty-two or three, can't remember.
-
Nice CJ!!!
-
good going John...
Mmmm I love goat cheese... some of the best cheeses in the world are from goats and sheep... 8) 8) 8)
-
All old goats love goat cheese!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
I spent considerable time in the middle east, camel milk, camel fudge, camel cheese, goat and sheep meat was a treat. Twelve member team lived for three months in the desert with a bedouin nomadic tribe.
Anyhow how goes the March Madness Coyote Hunt, no coyotes on the ground yet?
-
Stay tuned......

Had to come back and edit:

;) ;) ;) Congrats Mike on a job well done!! ;) ;) ;) ;)
Now about that gimpy coon receiving a granola bar...I was shown that granola bar earlier and it was a survival bar for the old coot...it looked like it was stale and probably hard as a rock....I figure the old coot threw it at the coon in self defense as he was "Gimping away".... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Also to all: Let it be known that the TRD truck had mud on it!! ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? History was made!! it's not just a go to the store truck anymore!! :o :o :o :o :o :o No blood yet, but I'm figuring he will hit a possum or skunk eventually!! :P :P :P
-
Congratulations Mike on the coyote.
As far as the TRD goes, if you don't have pictures of the mud on it, it didn't happen!! ;D ;D ;D

That is is great, I can not even find coyotes to hunt in March.
Mike, ya done good, like Ernie said March is a tough hunt. They are either nursing pups or soon to be nursing pups, extremely difficult to call. Very territorial this time of year, trolling dogs seem to be the answer. I picked up a two year old rescue lab just a few weeks ago and hope to use her as my coyote dog. Not like the hound guys but as an extra set of eyes, hearing and smell.
Still waiting for the initials.
-
Thanks guys, always feels good to pull the trigger on one. CoyoteJohn, u are correct on them being very territorial right now. February and March I only use howls and that male yesterday came lookin for me from howls on the Icotec. Also, not the first I've called in using howls this past month, just never got a shot.
-
Apparently you know what you are doing and are definitely not a slacker!
Knife ordered with MTZ on the blade, I should have it within a week or so.
-
Congratulations, Huntin 4 yotes
-
Way to Go! Congrats Mike!
-
Congrats!
-
Great job way to go.
-
March Madness or March Sadness?
Anyone hunting Coyotes?
-
I've been hunting them hard this month. Some days I get vocal responses but don't see anything. Other times I don't hear or see anything. I thought maybe the Misquito Creek hunters have them spooked. Still a few more days left. I'll be out there trying!!
-
I've been out, west wind at 25 mph last few days is rough.
-
Hope to get out this weekend
-
Finally
-
Nice work bud!
-
Nice looking coyote!!
-
Congrats misterjake!!!
-
Congratulations on a nice looking coyote. So what's the story behind the picture, rifle, cartridge, distance, sound?
-
I took the advice of Mike. Called it in on male howls. Killed around 150 yards with a TC Venture 22-250 using Hornady 50 gr V Max bullistic tips. Took about 10 minutes. Actually seen 4 different dogs. Two different pairs responded from two different directions. Hit a second one, but ran off into a pine thicket and couldn't find it. Looked for almost 2 hours. Watched him drop, so I knew he was hit. Had previous encounters with these dogs for the past 2 weeks. This was the first time I had shot opportunity.
-
Awesome.
-
Wasn't aware that PA had a season on "dogs".
