This years Camping/Picnic weekend will be May 16th, 17th, and 18th. It will be held at the ButtonWood Campground https://buttonwoodcamp.com/ This campground is in District 4 in a town called Mexico, PA It is right off rte 322 by Port Royal.
Depending on the size of your tent, we may be able to fit two tents in one lot. I would like for anyone planning on attending to make a post below stating that you will be attending, how many people and what you will be staying in because there is different rates an what day you will be arriving. Remember you or one member of your group or family must be a PPHA member. This will help us decide if we need to reserve more spots or not.
We will have a community tent this year same as last and the PPHA will be buying the bulk of the food. As usual please bring any special dietary foods you may need. Also if you want to bring anything to share with the group to help defer cost you may but do not have to.
Remember, you are welcome from any part of the state no matter what district you reside in. We had a blast last year and this year should be even better. Bring your wife or family also (immediate family only). Any questions contact bulldog via pm or email.
Bring all the gear you would normally bring when you camp. There are showers there for those who wish to smell good In addition we will be fishing, kayaking, and canoeing so bring any of that gear you may have. There are rentals there if they are not all taken. Please log onto buttonwoods site and check out all the activities available. There is a lot for kids to do also.
Anyone that came last year can remember how much fun this was last year for all that showed up.

I'm on dayshift that weekend, but I'll be driving up and back for the festivities....Count me in...No camping. Commuting daily after work!

;D ;D Lil Goose is 5'10", skinny as a rail, but will be in a Fire Fighting class that weekend.....he's headed to be a career Fire Fighter...Starts at HACC for a Fire Science degree in the fall. :) :) :) Working at the station now as an EMT in a Co-Op position from the High School....he even gets paid for it!! ??? ??? ??? So having said all that.... ??? ??? ??? ??? Hern your safe that weekend ::) ::) ::) ::)

if gf is along...prob a tent...if not...in the bed of the pickmeup truck that has a cap...i like to be difficult now that i'm not an officer :)

The wife and I will be there Saturday for the fun and a night in a tent.

As of this moment it wil be me + 3. Still not sure if we are using a tent or renting a cabin. Will let you know by Monday.

Not going to be able to attend this year but may stop in with my boys for a visit Saturday afternoon to evening. I have a lot going on this year with Jake graduationg and both boys working now. Jake and I are going to Ontario for a bear hunt in August for his graduation gift. I love it when I benefit from my kids! Lol.

That's a great idea, now I have a reason to stay up till midnight.

I'm bringing a rain coat, camp wood and whiskey. Maybe a fishing rod so the wife thinks I am actually fish'n.

Even Mexico cant handle the best the ppha has to offer :o...if I went there...the real mexico...there's lots of fur to shoot at I may not come back

I got fire wood, fry cutter deep fryer, and camp chef cooker

I got a skillet that goes on the camp chef, also a weber grill. If anyone esle could bring something to help cook breakfast that would be great

If I recall everybody should bring a little firewood and that helped out. Plus we had great camp fires all night.

I can prob get some wood...and I think i got a coleman grill layin around for breakfast....I'm glad I'm retired from french frys tho

Im pretty sure 2 or 3 is when we were allowed to setup before.

I just talked to Tom Purvis and he is coming to the camp out.
He will renew his membership there. He has been very sick, but is now a little better. Said he still might need hart surgery. So figure him for food and two nights. He will probably sleep in his van.

It's set I will be out Saturday morning again this year as my daughter has a field trip Friday and won't be home until late. It will be me wife and 2 kids. Let me know if I need to bring anything.

Looks like its going to be a bit soggy for setup but the rest of the weekend looks great. Of course it is still tue so the weather can change quite a bit yet.

Is anyone else thinking about going kayaking or canoeing? Im thinking about renting a kayak and going for a morning session.

I did a trial run of fried pickles last weekend and they came out good so im gonna bring stuff to do that.
Maybe some backstrap as well.
