New Carnivore headlight.
« on: September 01, 2013, 10:06:01 AM »
Just received a new Carnivore headlight and tried it out last night . This thing is sweet has a high and a low on it . Only uses 1 battery that is super easy to change . High beam is 12,000 lux and low beam is 2,000 lux. Compared it with my other headlight the coyote light and even on low beam its as bright as the coyote light is on high.  If you want the best headlight (imo) on the market this is it. High beam for hunting fields and low beam if hunting  in cover. Both show a nice coverage area for scanning .

Jeff...I just purchased one of the headlights from EW.....I love it.  Season can't come soon enough.  This is actually the first headlamp I've used.  I use to use just a hand held light for scanning.  You are right about it being bright.  I also like the fact it used the same battery as my other lights and its super light weight.

Can you adjust the tightness of the beam?

Zekedogg no the beam is not adjustable but with the light being so bright on high there is no need or reason you need to make the beam smaller so you can see out further.

Jeff I was thinking more along the lines of widening the beam for when in tight quarters

On low beam or even on high beam it shows a nice wide beam with very little side halo that would light up your hunting partner.  If in close quarters I would probably use the low beam.
