17 HMR

Anyone ever try using a .17 HMR. I prefer my .223 but my .17 will hold minute of fox out to 200yds.

Predator 100x,

What ranges are you typically shooting? My new sets will have me shooting out to 200yds. I'm not worried so much about accuracy. Both the gun and myself can easily make that shot. I'm concerned about having fox running off. I don't have enough experience with the .17 HMR on game to trust its effectiveness at 200yds.

Tikka,I never shot a fox at 200 yards with mine, longest shot may have been 140 yards, with excellent results.I imagine with a well placed shot you shouldn't have no problem, still plenty of energy at 200.
