I've found that my .223 really causes a lot of damage on fox so I only
Go for headshots lol. If I shoot em in the body I spend lots of time repairing
pelts! I just put a new scope on my Savage 340 in .222 hope to work on
a load to be able to take body shots and put more fur down!

LOL, even my deleted comment still hijacked the thread.  I ended up sending a PM to Csky about .222 recipes for my Savage 340.

I heard the load aims, kills, skins, and stretches all by itself.

Keep the sierra 55 under 3000 if you can get accuracy.  Too much steam will cream a fox and under 3000 will be good for big dogs.  Remember Bill Jordan-"Speeds fine-Accuracy is final".  Dick

camshaft,

Try a lighter powder charge. I know it's difficult. We all want are bullets screaming downrange. But slowing down your bullet will allow it to hold together better. Work down from your current charge in .3 grain increments till you find another accuracy node. Then, give it a try on game. Sometimes slowing things down just by 150fps. is all it takes. Another thing to look at is the rate of twist on your barrel. Fast twist barrels have a dramatic effect on how the bullet reacts upon impact. They open more violently.  If your twist is on the fast side then slowing down the bullet will help. If you try this though, remember to shoot the load for the proper dope.

I came up with a load I am testing that is 2200 fps and so far seems like it might be good but need a few more volunteers to get shot with it.
