Wal-Mart sales this to: It's outstanding to keep ticks off you when your hunting woodchucks or picking shrooms in the woods. I always keep it on hand and have used it even during early fox season on warm days...

so far this year i have pulled out 3 ticks that were dug in and found a couple crawling on my clothes. looks like it is going to be another banner year for them.

Ever get 'chiggers'? (no-see-em's)
For chiggers and ticks I wear a flee collar around each boot ankle. Don't wear against bare skin. Store flee collars in empty peanut butter jar with tight lid, for next outing. They will keep all season when stored this way.
Spray good bug repellent around waist area, hat, neck and arms. Light cigar to keep knats and women away.

Anyone know if those thermacell things work for mosquitos and gnats like they say they do on all those outdoor shows?
-
Thermacell works good. I used it in british Columbia last year. Lots off bugs up there in the spring.

A friend on another site from Oklahoma..He uses those cattle ear tags that are treated for cattle bitting critters.. He attaches them to his boot laces. Tractor Supply sales them.....

Thermocell works good when hunting hogs for me.

We been using Thermocell at home, on the patio, and camping for the past several years. Wife likes it.
I have good results with Thermocell.
