I served, 61-64, US Army infantry. As my ETS neared I thought to re-up if I could get helicopter school (Warrant Officer). Was turned down, so I left and went home. Joined the PD , and here I am, older and retired. Guess I was lucky. A lot of choppers went down.

dreamcatcher, i know a lot of things went down including the small arms weapons i had to repair. P.S you should know these metals well.

another gunner in my platoon hit a trotting coyote at 2800m with a sabot main gun round in Yakima, WA. talk about a green mist through the thermal imaging sight....geesh! ;D (he did catch he77 for that stunt though...didn't know a full bird was in the range tower... :D)

Unfortunately after my back injury they decided to med board me and rejected my MOS change so they threw me away. Thankfully I get 100% from the VA.

Army...68-72..Sp/5..1 tour Viet-Nam...1 tour Germany....P1 I will 2nd your comment on C-130's,hitched a ride on one of those from Saigon to Udorn ,Thailand. There was so much stuff on board the multiple striped AF Sgt. I was next to cheered when it got in the air...lol... 8)

Yes Sir! Navy Aviation Ordnance (AO2). Did everything from AIMD Armament (Miramar), F-14 Squadron Ordnance (Miramar/CVN 64/CVN 62), Station Weapons Range/Armory Division Armorer/Small Arms Instructor (Miramar), CVN-73 Range Safety Officer/SRT 3 Team Leader, Base Security (Norfolk), and a short stint with EODMU 3 (Coronado).
Lots of Miramar.....and yes, I watched a good bit of filming for Top Gun. We actually hung the camera pod on a modified weapons rail with a Bru 10 adapter! hey....it worked...LOL

Army Airborne Infantryman 91-95 at Ft. Bragg 505th P.I.R. spent most of the time abroad in Korea 93-94 at Camp Greaves with 1/506th. Went in at 17yo full of piss and vinegar! Shoulda stayed would have been retired now spending all my time hunting and out in the woods.....hindsight
