17 fireball question
« on: December 14, 2009, 05:21:23 PM »
Greetings,
Does anyone know if the report from a 17 cal rem fireball cf is that much less than a 204 or 22-250?  Thanks for any response.
Cheers,
Bill

i would say that you couldn't tell much difference between the .17 and the .204 but the 22-250 would be louder.

I was surpirised to see how small the case was for the 17 Fireball...Kind of looked like the 22 Hornet not the 17 Rem.   This is good by the way...Probably it would be more like the 22 Hornet which is known to have less blast and is good for populated areas...
In other words less likely for the lights to come on at at near by neighbors house near a farm you hunt when you use the 17 Fireball and or the 22 Hornet then when you use the 22250.

I personally use the .17 remington and it's done the job, however, the fireball uses less powder which burns up in the barrel and has a quick raspy "bang" (not as loud as my .17) but on the other had travels at the same speed up and around 4000 fps.
