GAME COMMISSION ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF PILOT POINT-OF-SALE ELECTRONIC LICENSE SYSTEM

Expressing cautious optimism, Pennsylvania Game Commission Executive Director Carl G. Roe today announced that a pilot electronic license sale system, commonly referred to as point-of-sale, was launched at 15 sites on Sept. 22.

Roe said that Automated Licensing Systems (ALS), the company hired to produce the new license sale system, has provided a product that the agency plans to use to sell licenses on trial basis at seven issuing agents in four counties, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commissions Harrisburg headquarters and all six Game Commission region offices and the agencys Harrisburg headquarters. Specific issuing agents are: Walmart in Mechanicsburg, and the Cumberland County Treasurers Office in Carlisle; Bass Pro Shop and Dicks Sporting Goods in Harrisburg, Dauphin County; Schuylkill County Treasurers Office in Pottsville; and Artistic Edges and the York County Treasurers Office, both in York.
