I thought talapia was a greenish fish that lived in warm water ocean environments. Also called mahi-mahi? Or something like that....

Mahi-mahi is what restaurants refer to dolphin as. Not the mammal, Dolphin/Dorado.

Pa Outdoor News had an interesting article on tilapia raised on fish farms and escaping into Pa's streams when they flood. Supposed to threaten native species.

this does happen but they cannot tolerate our winters, the cold water kills them... if you have a source of warm water though, they can survive, power plant or so...

when they had the fish farm on Brunners Island on the Susquehanna years ago they had many escape, large schools in the warm water, used lettuce balled up on a hook to catch them... was good eating for free, but when they shut the plant down for maintenance they were all killed...

They have them in the Mon River in Pittsburgh.
Appears some Asian believe it is good luck to release a live fish for everyone fish that you et. Local fishmarkets sell Talipia by the pair?

Fish commision is saying it is now an established (but undesirable) fishery.
