Title: On your next chuck hunt
Post by: uncle buck on March 09, 2010, 07:59:27 PM
When the chuck hunting gets slow...You know, no heads popping up out of holes... Take one of your predator calls and do about one  minute of puppy whines...... Wow  triggers the chuck heads popping  up for shots.. Try it when the chuck hunting gets a bit slow, you will see what I mean...

Nope not KIYI's...Just plain ole Puppy Whines...Think of a new domestic pup you just brought home and is still misses it's mother...Things whimper and cry all night until you place an alarm clock in the box so it thinks it's the mother heart beat..Then it shuts up...    Thats the kind of puppy crys one needs to make...

This is the way we shoot groundhogs out past 1000 yards.

6.5 x284 caliber, Custom rifle. Nightforce 12x42 power scope, 3 oz trigger. It shoots 142 grain Serria match king bullets. Rifle weights about 18 lbs. When you shoot out to 1000 yards you can still see bullet splash. From there you do corrections.

Saw two yesterday sunning outside of a restaurant on the busy Carlisle Pike in SCPA.  Things were small too...Almost looked like Prairie dogs not chucks...
