I have the exact gun. Mine shoots very well and groups a .5 inch group at 100 yards with hornady 32 grain vmax. I also have some barnes grenade that group .25 inch at 100 yards. Thats the only two loads I have shot so far out of mine. Do NOT buy the v-max hornady because they are very poor on coyotes. I have had too much trouble losing coyotes and not finding them and they rip up a fox beyond belief. People say the hollow point bullets work well. That would be my recommendation. If I was you, I would buy the gun. If you don't want it let me know because I might. They are nice for predator hunting. Mine has the green stock and blends in well wile hunting. I clean the barrel on mine about every 15-20 shots, because my bullets are leaving the muzzle at 4300 fps. Thats screaming! Hope this helps

from what i understand the howa and the weatherby vanguard are made in the same factory and ive heard of  people having issues with vanguards not grouping good despite the sample target they ship with the guns

I have a remington 257 roberts in a mountain rifle that wouldn't shoot. It was bad. It grouped 4 inches at 100 yards. I cleaned the barrel really really good and got it down to 2.5 inch groups. Then tried a different load out of it and is shot a .50-.75 inch group at 100 yards. Sometimes it takes some cleaning and the right load to make a gun shoot. I would think if I glass bedded the gun yet, it would group better than it does. When you shoot, use the tip of your finger. Not the first joint like most people do. That will help with accuracy.
