I like the Winchester Supreme # 4 buckshot copper plated .
Choke size it depends on the gun. My son and I have the same gun but use different chokes.

I haven't killed anything with it yet but i've been loadin up with #4 buck 3inch, remington green and yellow box...44 pellets I think? I patterned the gun with this using a remington super full turkey choke out of my remington 870 and I put 36 pellets on a 1ft by 1ft piece of cardboard at 30 yards...I think with those patterns I may have to let'm get to about 50 before even thinking about pullin the trigger haha, 30 might just grind'm up...

In contrast, a friend of mine shot a fox this season at around 50 yards with #4 turkey shot, remington nitro's, and rolled'm dead with a 3.5 inch load in a remington 1187

+3 on the winchester supremes....my 835 shoots them real nice. full choke. (.635 i think) as mentioned...be sure to pattern it to get the best results.

Might be better to get BB's then no matter what comes along you will not blow it up as bad.  A small Grey or the big bad coyote...
Cabelas...Is selling Winchester 3 inch BB's  for $14.95 for a box of 25.

At times I do roll my own...www.ballisticproducts.com
They have Nickel plated BB and Nickel plated # 4 buckshot.
If you have a press you just have to load the shot without using the press. All other procedures are done the same.. Of course you have to count the # 4 buckshot out and place it in the wad and the #BB I weight what 1 1/4 oz of BB would equate too.
By the  way nickel plated does penetrate real well and it's better then just un-pladed lead..

Cabelas was selling special Winchester High Brass BB lead factory rounds in 2009-2010.  It was running for about $14.99 for a box of 25.  If your in Cabelas and they still are selling it might be good to pick up one or two boxes if they still stock it...

I don't get down to Cabelas much and Winchester is not going to make this load anymore, so if your close by and don't mind pick me up about 5 boxes and i will get them from you.
