Title: boiling traps short cuts usually means failure
Post by: uncle buck on December 21, 2015, 10:02:56 PM
I was thinking about my younger days... I would boil my traps in black walnut pods in August and let them hang for  a good month or so and then place them into a clean container...  Then you get a    550 and you boil it a few days before you set it and you fail... LOL... Only reason you do that is you want to get that new 550 into the field and get it after a targeted animal.. However haste makes waste... Whats your opinion on on the time frame of boiling traps and letting them hang for a bit out back?  I'm old school and when I do decide to trap I do all the boiling in Aug..
