CZ 527 Varmint 17 Remington

Selling my CZ 527 Varmint (heavy barrel) Chambered in the canterfire 17 Remington.  These rifles have the single set trigger.  The rifle comes with rings and 2 boxes of factory ammo, once fired empty brass as well.  This gun shot cloverleafs when i shot it, only has 20 rounds thru it.  Cant use this in special regs area so time to sell it.

Hope Ernie buys it...We talked shortly about the 17 center fires while at camp...Also a CZ wow that be a good one..
Ernie once you own a 17 CF you will not want to part with it. Outstanding for chucks too..Makes them look like they got hit with a rubber hose but if you took their pelt off you would see it looks like Jello inside..


I have the new Lyman book and will be happy to pass on reloading info what they feel is the best powder for the 17 Rem CF..
However...Factory Rem 25 grain ammo shoots so good in my 17 Rems...

This summer I was hand reloading and shooting the 17 rem CF. I liked the CZ the best out of the 4 rifles I got to shoot. I also shot about 50 30 grain Berger bullets. Had them to 3900 fps. but they kicked as hard as my 223 52 grain bullets but I think they hit harder then my 223 55 gr bullets. The 25 gr hollow points I seam to like the best but kicked like the 223 when started pushing them around 4100fps. I am hoping the heavy barrel will keep my eye on the target a little better at the shot. The 20 grain bullets I did not mess with, but the speed you could push them is out of this world.
The 17 rem cf is a very likable caliber. You can load them down to the 17 fireball speeds and hardly no recoil or if you want up to the 30 grainer that will hit with to much force on a small fox and kick more them you would think.

Actually having conversations with Buckwheat and Scott I have changed the way that I  zero my 17 Rem and  17 Fireball...It's now right on at 100 yards instead of 2 inches high..The  + and or - before and out too 250 yards is so minimal that one does not need to play games with the flat shooting 17 CF's like the larger heavier deer calbiers..

I too like the 25 grain HP...I have yet to even kill anything with the 20 grain V-Max..Kind of like why try to change a good thing... Actually it has just been recently that I started to play around with reloads... The factory 17 Rem 25 grain HP do shoot so good.  Understand that they, 25 grain HP also shoot well in the 17 Fireball also..

Buckwheat that is also a good reason maybe to own a 17 Remington instead of the 17 Fireball...You can reload down to the 17 Fireball velocities if your desire... However ...17 Remington and or the 17 Fireball...Truly outstanding chuck, bobcat, coon, gray fox, red fox, and coyote guns for sure...

I have not seen anything shot with 17 Rem kind of a new thing to me.  But I met a guy that purchased one of my rifle rest this year shot quite a few red fox in past years with the Rem fireball and 17 rem with 25 grain hollow points and clams little pelt damage. His preferred rifle today is the 17 Rem with 25 grain hollow points. He kind of got me all revved up to shoot this 17 rem. this year.  You know another new adventure this year. I can hardly wait!!

We will hook up and hunt some time. Great talking to you about all them there subjects. I put a sling, scope and am now ready to shoot it in. How long till fox season?
