I started calling deer back in the early 70's, but only if I see them first. When bowhunting you want them always closer. Never used a caller back then, just with my own vocals.
Every year when my brother comes to hunt, he brings me one of those doe bleats in a can that you turn over to activate. Last year, on the second Monday at 1pm, I climbed into my stand and turned it over twice, sat down and a large doe walked quickly out of nowhere within two minutes. Couldn't believe I wasn't in my stand 5 minutes and done.

Using a bleat mouth call...doing a bleat make it should like "Where Are You", "Where Are You". Do it only two times in succession and remain quiet for up to 6 minutes..  You will call in deer if they are in the area doing this...
