WTB a gunner,lol. This is my 4th miss of the season. As I pulled up to my spot I spotted fresh tracks in the snow so I went a bit further down the road and went into the woods a new way. I set up and gave my new KCC call a few blows and waited. It sounded like a train coming through the woods and out popped a grey fox about 15yds from me. As I raised my shotgun my stupid squeaker in my jacket pocket made noise and he spotted me right away and I shot as he turned and missed him. Even though I haven't gotten anything I have seen/heard quite a few preds. I have called in fox,bobcat,coyote,dogs, and cats with my KCC calls. I really enjoy the calling more then the shooting. Oh well.......this summer will be a good time to refine my shooting skills and pick up some more hunting spots.
