I've been out shooting groundhogs just to keep my shooting skills sharp in anticipation of knocking down a few fox this year.  I'm glad to see others share my same passion on predator hunting.

Same here. No fox sightings on my favorite farm. I called in one coyote but it didn't expose enough for a chest shot, I seen another one one the side of the road as I was going to hunt. Seen one red mousing along the road at another farm I hunted this last weekend. I went out several times and didn't call in a fox, yet. I'm nervous too.

Red Lion area should be in red fox heaven.  I'd trade ya 2 coyotes to 1 red fox to have them back

Still waiting for my 17 WIN SMRF to arrive and my  17 Hornet barrel. Odds are I will have to use the  22 WMR and the  17 Fireball when the season first starts but that OK too...normally with all the corn up and cover I do more shotgunning then rifle shooting in the early part of the season..

Update - turns out a neighbor trapped out 13 reds last year.......that would explain the lack-of-fox out back. At least I found out now and not a month from now.  :(

I practiced calling again on a farm I can't hunt due to houses being all around.  I called in 2 reds within 15 minutes.  The one came within 15 yards.  This was around 8 pm.....

Now we move ahead to midnight......I called, and called, and called......NOTHING!   My first night out was a bust.  but we're going to give em heck again tonight!

To add insult to injury, when I was dropping Keith off around 6:00am.....there lay a fox hit by a car right in the middle of Harleysville.

Next time maybe we should call the Wawa parking lot.....LOL

Hunted until 4 am and only called in two coons, seen no fox but did hear some coyotes sounding off and heading in my direction but by this time I was already at the truck and looking forward to hitting more spots that I put off waiting for fox season to open.
